Soil Health and NRCS Grant Talks

This talk at the Ag Hall will have two parts. First, Maggie Payne, a state soil scientist, will discuss healthy soils, erosion, and biochar. Next, Mia Halter, District Conservationist for SE Mass, will discuss increased funding for farmers due to the Inflation Reduction Act. This funding will increase the budgets of two NRCS programs: the Environmental Quality Incentives Program and the Conservation Stewardship Program. Both programs offer training and funding for farmers working to improve their soil quality. This program is recommended for backyard growers who want to know more about soil health and production farmers interested in receiving NRCS programs and funding.

COST: FREE, RSVP to 4h@mvagsoc.org helpful but not required.
