General
When is the Fair?
The Fair is August 21st–24th, 2025. The Fair is open from from 10 AM –11 PM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and 10 AM–6 PM on Sunday. The Barns close at 9 PM (5 PM Sunday), the Hall closes at 10 PM (5 PM Sunday), and the Fiber Tent closes at 6 PM (5 PM Sunday).

How can I find the Fair premium book?
It is now available on our website! Physical copies will be available at most town halls and libraries and on the porch of the Agricultural Hall starting on August 1st.
What is the Fair theme this year?

Are dogs permitted at the Fair?
No, dogs are not permitted at the Fair. Dogs entered in the dog show can attend the Fair for the duration of the show on Sunday.
Are alcohol and cigarettes permitted at the Fair?
No, alcohol and cigarettes are not permitted at the Fair.

How do I buy tickets to the Fair?
Tickets are available online starting in early August or in person during the Fair at our ticket booths.
How much do Fair tickets cost?
Kids (ages 5–12): $10
Adults (13+): $15
Seniors (62+): $10
Veterans: $10
4 and under: FREE!
How do I buy tickets for the rides and games?
The tickets and games are part of our carnival by Fiesta Shows and will be available in the carnival area during the Fair!
What if I want to work at the Fair?
We’d love to have you! Every Fair is only possible because of the hundreds of volunteers who help us out in every department, from the Fiber Tent to security. Fair volunteers and workers also get free entry for the day of their shift and a variety of other perks. And signups are now open!

How do I purchase a Fair poster?
Posters (along with other merch from this year and years past!) will be available at the Merchandise Booth during the Fair. We will put leftover posters on our online store in September, and you can order them to be shipped then!
How do I get my Fair [t-shirt, tote bag, magnet, etc]?
Stop by the Merch booth during the Fair—these are limited editions! We will put leftovers on our online store in September, and you can order them to be shipped then!
Volunteering/Working at the Fair
How old do I need to be to volunteer/work at the Fair?
Anyone 8 and up is welcome to volunteer for selected shifts! We are only able to offer optional pay for adults (18+), or for teens 14 to 17 with valid work papers. Age requirements are marked for each of our shifts.
How do I sign up to volunteer/work at the Fair?
Our volunteer and work opportunities are now live on Signup Genius!
Events and Fair Entry
How do I enter my [insert: tomatoes, quilt, butter, pie, flowers, rabbit, pig, etc.] in the Hall or Barn?
Registration is now open on our online system, Fair Entry. We will accept paper forms on our front porch starting on August 1st. Please note the deadlines below:
Hall Entries
ALL HALL entry registrations (including commercial and junior entries) are due by Thursday, August 14th at 7 PM.
Non-perishable entry item drop off will be Saturday, August 16th between 1 PM and 6 PM and Sunday, August 17th between 1 PM and 6 PM.
Junior perishable entry item drop off will be Wednesday, August 20th between 10 AM and 5 PM. All Junior perishables will be judged on Wednesday.
Adult perishable entry item drop off will be Wednesday, August 20th between 10 AM and 5 PM or between 7 AM and 8:30 AM on Thursday, August 21st.
Barn Entries
ALL BARN entry registrations are due by Sunday, August 17th at 5 PM.
Animals should be brought to the Barn on Wednesday, August 20th between 3 and 7 PM or Thursday, August 21st between 7 and 9 AM.
Animals must be inspected by a barn manager and have submitted their health certificate before entering the barn.
Do I need to sign up in advance to participate in the [insert: Shucking Contest, Dog Show, Skillet Toss, Etc.]?
It varies! Here’s a list of our registration requirements for events:
Cattle Day (parade, obstacle course, oxen in hand, and ox pull): held all day on Thursday. Preregistration is required to enter oxen; contact managers Melanie and Scott Brundage at scottbrundage@msn.com.
Chopstick Knitting Contest: held Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 3 PM. Youth and adult registration ends at the fiber tent 30 minutes before each competition.
Sack Races: held Thursday at 4 PM and Saturday ay 5 PM in the show ring. Preregistration is not required.
Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull: held Saturday at 11 AM. In-person registration is available an hour before the event at the tractor pull area.
Horse Day (draft horse halter class and draft horse pull): held all day on Friday. Preregistration is required to enter horses; contact the office at office@mvagsoc.org.
Cornhusking Competition: held Friday at 2 PM behind the Hall. Preregistration is not required.
Pet Show: held Friday at 3 PM. No preregistration required; register pets with the Pet Show Committee at the stage. Show starts at 3 PM; please be on time.
Farm Machinery Day (Antique Tractor Pull, Woodsmen’s Contest, Touch a Tractor, Mini Excavator Obstacle Course): held Saturday all day.
Tractor Pull: held Saturday at 10 AM. Preregister on Fair Entry or in person. Call Simon Bollin with any questions: 508-958-2033.
Woodsman’s Fair: held Saturday at 11 AM. Register on Fair Entry by August 3rd, 2023. Registration fee is $25 or $5 for a single class.
Shucking Competition: held Saturday at 4 PM. Preregistration is not required.
Tug of War: held Saturday at 5:30 PM. Register online through Fair Entry (department 122B), at the entry office during the Fair, or at the event.
Mini Excavator Competition: held Saturday at 5:30 PM. Sign up at the tractor pull ring on Saturday.
Dog Show: held Sunday at 10 AM. Preregistration on Fair Entry or in-person is required by Friday of the Fair at 11 PM. No registrations will be allowed on Saturday or Sunday.
Women’s Skillet Toss: held Sunday at 3 PM. Preregistration required; registration is available online until the end of the day on Saturday or in-person at the entry office on Sunday before noon. No registration will be allowed at the event.
