Farming the Sea: The Benefits of Aquaculture from a Restoration Hatchery

Tuesday, July 8th from 6–8 PM at John T. Hughes Hatchery and Research Station (57 Shirley Avenue, Oak Bluffs, follow road to the end)

Why does the MV Shellfish Group raise millions of baby shellfish each year for island waters? We'll answer this and all of your questions as you explore hatchery systems, look through microscopes, and handle local marine life. For nearly 50 years, MVSG's knowledgeable team of scientists has engaged in habitat restoration, education, and shellfish seed production. See why farming the sea is vital to sustaining our island's culture and environmental well-being!
