Paul Jackson House

The Paul Jackson House was bequeathed to the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society (MVAS) by long-time homesteader Paul Jackson in 2022. You can read about the incredible operation that Paul and his family had there here. The property was deeded to the Agricultural Society with the goal of providing farmer housing and land access on the island; per the terms of the gift, the house must house farmers/farmworkers and the land must remain in active agricultural use.

His wish was that the property provided agricultural workers with housing and ample growing space. For the past three years we have rented the house to farms seasonally for their workers, while we did work on the house. We are currently accepting applicants to manage and live in the house for summer 2026 and also applications for long-term rental of the property.

Short-Term Rental (Applications Due Friday, April 17th, 2026)

Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society, Inc. (MVAS) is looking to rent the Jackson House directly to a farm solely for their farm workers for the summer season 2026. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. One of the larger bedrooms has ensuite bathroom, and two of the bedrooms are quite small.

The rent is $3,000/month for up to 3 people and an additional $1,000/additional person, with a maximum of 4 people. The expectation is that the chosen farm pays the monthly rent directly to MVAS and manages the underlying tenants. MVAS will not be responsible for managing underlying tenants.

This application is due by Friday, April 17th. All applicants will hear back by the end of April at the latest.

Long-Term Rental (Applications Due May 1st, 2026)

Applications are also open for the long-term rental of Jackson House and grounds! We anticipate making the house and grounds available for long-term lease starting November 1, 2026.

Information and the application are below. Please print the application, fill it out, scan it, and submit the application via email to Lauren Lynch (ed@mvagsoc.org). Reach out to Lauren or Julie Scott (julielikescows@gmail.com) anytime if you have any questions or would like to tour the property!
