Jess started her garden with little to no soil in a frost bottom 20 years ago. After many years of haphazard experimentation, she has narrowed my focus to growing snacking crops (tomatoes, peas and berries) and storage crops (winter squash, garlic and potatoes). She also loves growing herbs, edible flowers and cutting flowers, trying to provide plenty of pollinator-friendly plants. Using mostly found and foraged inputs from within a small radius, she continues to improve her soil health and crop output in a way that feels very fun and satisfying to both soul and body.
