The Antique Power Museum, established in 2010, occupies the back half of the second animal barn on Society grounds. Curated by George Hartman, the Museum is home to engines, tools, vehicles and equipment that harken back to an earlier time of Island agriculture and life.

Visitors can watch a vintage steam or gasoline engines at work, learn the intricacies of various pulley systems, appreciate historic farming methods—all while enchanted by powerful lore emanating from the deep knowledge well of Master Tinkerer Hartman.

The Antique Power Museum is open throughout The Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Fair & Show every August or by special appointment.
